Ava White

Hi! I'm Ava. I'm a young writer from the Carolinas with a love for animal fiction. My debut novel, Camille's Monarch, will be available in print in the coming months. To learn more, contact me or tap one of the buttons below!

Camille's Monarch

A misguided Monarch. A falsely judged daughter. A mother watching from the shadows.

In the aftermath of a sudden string of murders, three colonies of wild cats are faced with problems even after the killer is seemingly gone. A young Monarch rises to power in the Evergreen Glaring with one mission: to restore the safety of his cats for good. In the Lake Glaring, the daughter of a killer fights against prejudice while trying to learn the truth about her father. Both of their journeys and trials intertwine as two halves of a whole in this story of betrayals, vengeance, and secrets that are bound to be unearthed.

For lovers of Watership Down, the Warriors series, Tailchaser's Song, and others.

About Me

When I was little, I spent a lot of time outdoors playing with my siblings and pretending to be a wild animal. As I got older, my games slowly shifted into stories, and once I hit middle school I was reading and writing during any free moment I had. Though questionable in quality, the dozens of stories I came up with as a child are very dear to my heart and have paved the way for the things I write about today. When I was about fifteen, I started planning an idea for a novel and worked on it on and off for the next few years. I decided in February of 2023 to dive in and write Camille's Monarch. In many ways, this book is written for my childhood self, who would have read it in one sitting (whether it was really made for kids her age or not). My hope is that Camille's Monarch will reach the right audience who will love it just as much as I do.At any given time, my bedroom walls are scattered with sticky notes and notebook pages full of ideas for my current book project, and there will be a mug of tea on my desk that my cat, Haku, is trying to stick his paw in. In addition to writing, I also love to explore the beauty of God's Creation through drawing, photography, and studying the plants and animals in my home state.
